Start investigating genetic links with immediate family members. Look at eye color, hair color, etc. and discuss the people who have those characteristics in common. Develop a flowchart to illustrate the common traits. Based on the evidence, identify which characteristics are most dominant. If your child continues to be interested in the project it can be expanded to include other relatives.

Comparing baby pictures to check out who has Aunt Jennie’s nose or Uncle Lou’s lips might be fun!
